The places of St Francis

"And he came between Cannaia and Bevagni. And passing by with that fervour, he lifted up his eyes and saw some trees beside the road, in which was almost an infinite multitude of birds. And he went into the field and began to preach to the birds that were on the ground; and immediately those that were in the trees came to him all at once and stood still, while Saint Francis finished preaching".
